Join the Academy of Rock and participate in a jam session from 4-6 p.m.  If you always wanted to play on the "big" stage, here's your opportunity to play, jam, and be part of a jam session.  It's all about rock-n-roll and there's no better time than at Rock for Kids for  you to jam in a jam session hosted by Kalamazoo Academy of Rock.  RSVP's not necessary, but certainly encouraged. The Black in Black tribute band has been performing an incredible, exciting, high energy reproduction of  AC/DC since 2001. Back in Black has the innate ability to transcend both the spirit and sound of AC/DC. The band has created an incredible buzz which has placed them as one of the top drawing tribute acts in North America, performing sold out shows to more than 36,000 from Puerto Rico to Toronto. Back in Black has been recruited by Sony Music, 20th Century Fox, Annerin Productions and Live Nation. They have also performed with Cheap Trick, Blue Oyster Cult, Grand Funk Railroad, Ted Nugent, April Wine, Night Ranger, Violent Femmes and Vince Neil of Motley Crue. 

ROLLING THE STONES

Rolling the Stones is a Southern California based band performing throughout the United States and beyond. The nine members of Rolling the Stones provides a faithful, multifaceted concert experience with a full-sized stage production and a stunning rendition of the sights and sounds of the Rolling Stones. Former president of Atlantic Records labeled Rolling the Stones “the real deal,” as he heard them sing Rolling Stones hits such as “Beast Of Burden,” “Brown Sugar,” “ It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll,” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

HOT POT OF COFFEE
Friday, August 19 from 5:30-7:30

Forming with only the intentions of competing in a high school talent show, has rapidly grown to be a household name around Mattawan MI and its surrounding area. This 5 piece band consists of Coleman Wilson on lead guitar, Jason Barber on the bass and guitar, Carter Furland, alumni of the Kalamazoo Academy of Rock, on the keyboard, Cam Selkirk on the drums, and Joe Edington singing lead vocals, along with various other local musicians featured as well. Artists covered include anything from Van Morrison to Katy Perry, and everything in between. 
 

Rock for Kids Event Rules

For the safety of Rock for Kids guests, the following rules will be followed on site:

  • Must be 18 years of age, or accompanied by an adult after 7 p.m.

  • Must be 21 years of age and provide valid picture identification to purchase alcoholic beverages.

  • Must wear shoes and shirts on the site

  • Pets are prohibited

  • Picture identification required for the purchase of alcoholic beverages

  • Rock for Kids reserves the right to check bags at the gate.

  • No coolers or beverages can be brought into the festival site

  • No concealed weapons – for the safety of our guests, we reserve the right to check for weapons

  • Please note that there are designated smoking areas in observance of the 2010 Michigan No Smoking Ban
